Welcome
to the Enniskillen District Orange Lodge Website
Enniskillen District Orange Lodge is a thriving District Lodge
with 12 Private Lodges in Enniskillen town and surrounding areas
of Mullaghdun, Letterbreen, Cleenish, Garvary and Trory.
In this area, we have a membership of around 350 brethren returned
to the County Grand Lodge, although a lot more Orange brethren now
live in this area but prefer to remain in their own family linked
lodges.
The town of Enniskillen is well known throughout Orangeism and
all over the world. The name is carried proudly on Orange banners
and army regiments, and remembered in the words of many songs, the
most familiar being "The Sash My Father Wore".
The Duke of Wellington said of the Inniskilling men when reviewing
them before the battle of Waterloo, "They frighten me, what
must they do to the enemy!"
More than 300 years ago they first defended their town against
King James and his army. Since then, over the years they have distinguished
themselves with a record of bravery and honour on battlefields around
the world. It is hard to believe that the two World Wars, in which
they continued to distinguish themselves, have now to be referred
to as happening in the last century.
